Monastery of the Archangel Michael

The Holy Monastery of Archangel Michael at Thassos Island and is located in the southeast of the island and near the area of Alyki. It is built high above the sea overlooking the Aegean Sea and Mount Athos. It is a nunnery and belongs to Mount Athos. In the holy monastery is kept a piece of Holy Material, part of the nails of the crucifixion of Christ.

Your visit to the monastery requires dress code. In case you are not prepared there are suitable clothes at the entrance. The monastery of the Archangel Michael celebrates on November 8 and the Tuesday of Diakainisimos.
